BGI Ltd, through its founder, Bill Boberg, has been heavily involved in mineral exploration and development projects in Africa from 1987 to the present. He was Vice President of Geology and Exploration for WMC Liberia Management Limited and Country Manager for all of Western Mining Corporation (Australia) activities in Liberia from 1987 to 1992. He was the founder, in 1993, and is the president of Africa Mineral Resource Specialists Inc. He has been involved in projects in over 20 African countries and has worked for, and with, mining companies from North America, Europe, Australia and South Africa as well as African governments, the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank and the United Nations. Through Africa Mineral Resource Specialists Inc. (AMRS) he has managed operations with offices and operations in multiple countries of Africa. The AMRS collection of African mineral exploration data includes extensive files of mineral occurrence data, topographic maps, geologic maps, miscellaneous project reports, out-of-print geologic reports and maps for many countries but with particular emphasis on Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana and Ethiopia.
